OURS Officer Positions

WHAT ARE THE POSITIONS?

  • The President shall be generally for all OURS business and is the head administrator for the organization. Specific duties involved in this position include the facilitation of regular meetings and special activities, setting organization priorities and goals, securing funding, preparing meeting agendas in conjunction with the Secretary, and other official acts representing the organization.
  • The Vice President shall be responsible for assisting the President in all OURS business. This includes the facilitation of regular meeting and special activities, the setting of goals and priorities, securing funding, and otherwise facilitation interaction between students, the Executive Board, and the faculty of the department.
  • The Treasurer shall be responsible for all monetary-related activities of OURS. He/she will be primary contact for all SAFC and department funding requests and inquiries, at the direction of the President and Vice President. He/she shall manage the funding accounts for the organization and be primarily responsible for receiving reimbursement for expenses from the SAFC.
  • The Secretary shall be responsible for routing administrative duties of the organization at the discretion of the other three officers. Specific set duties include tracking attendance at regular meetings, determining voting eligibility, counting and recording votes, preparing meeting agendas in conjunction with the President, sending e-mails, writing letters, and making phone calls.
  • The Faculty/Dean Liaison is responsible for maintaining open channels with the URS program director, CRP chair, and AAP dean. Specific duties include attending faculty meetings and keeping regular contact with the dean, working with faculty on specific issues such as curriculum, and reporting to the OURS Executive Board on progress.
